Guest Speakers 2024

Paul and Cindy Karos

Topic: Nurturing the Spiritual Garden of Your Children’s Hearts
Paul and Cindy Karos are a true Pan Orthodox Couple–Cindy, Antiochian and Paul, Greek, being married for 27 years, they have done Orthodox Ministry work together and individually for both the Antiochian and Greek Archdiocese on a local, regional and national level all through their lives– while working in secular careers and now, full time. In 2018, Paul began Matrona Ministries where he does one-on-one counseling, parish retreats, premarital counseling, and Christian life inventories. He also has a podcast on Ancient Faith Radio called Person-to-Person. Cindy is currently the Vice Chair of Bishop Anthony’s Diocesan Council and is the Board Chair of Faithtree Resources, a non-profit Orthodox ministry specializing in Orthodox group studies. She was a past Midwest Diocese Youth Director and ran a pan-Orthodox Family Camp in Minnesota for 20 years. Together they travel around the country doing Orthodox retreats and workshops. Both of them had successful secular careers. Paul had a 35-year career on Wall Street. He was the president of an investment banking firm, ran multiple hedge funds, and was the number one airline analyst in the world for 5 years in a row. Cindy had a career in International and domestic Sales Management before she was blessed to stay home and be a mom. Paul has also been blind since he was teenager. The thing they are the happiest about is being parents to three adult children that some of your children may have had as counselors at the Antiochian Village– Peter, Anna, and Joseph Karos.

What is Winter Family Camp?

Winter Family Camp is a program that is the same as our summer Family Camp – except it’s during the winter! It is an opportunity for your family to get away from everyday life and take a weekend as a family to grow closer to Christ, in the beautiful setting of the Antiochian Village Camp. At Winter Family Camp, eating a meal together as a family is the norm, not the exception. Not your typical vacation, Winter Family Camp offers a mini-vacation without maps, lines for popcorn, or decisions over where to eat. Our flexible schedule gives you the choice of “doing it all” from praying to playing, or just taking it easy sitting around our fireplace.

Because you’re at the Village, the day is measured not so much by hours, but by prayer—the day is bookmarked with Matins and Vespers in beautiful St. Ignatius Church, with services sung by everyone present. Family Builder sessions offer practical, down-to-earth resources for keeping our families strong.

Some of our families come to meet up with families of far-away friends; others have come and made friends and come back to reunite. Either way, in addition to family time, our moms, dads and kids also enjoy meeting and spending time together.
