SUMMER CAMP REGISTRATION

2023

REGISTRATION OPENS THIS SATURDAY, JANUARY 7 AT 9am EST!

Things to do before Saturday

To make registration easier for yourself on Saturday, here are some things you can get a head start on now:

  • Create an account! You can’t register if you’re not logged in, so click the “login” button at the top right and make sure that you have an account, and if you already do, make sure you are able to access it.
  • Login to your AV account and update any information that you can.
  • Pay your balance! Make sure you’ve covered any outstanding balances from previous camp events before registration opens. Anyone with an outstanding balance will NOT be able to register until that balance is paid.
  • You can skip the medical section on registration day to make things faster. Just remember to log back in and complete the medical section later.

Things to Know Before You Register

Tuition

We’ve updated tuition this year to help cover the costs of our camping program. Below is the updated tuition for each respective program:

  • Full 2-Week Summer Camp Sessions: $1,000
  • Byzantine Chant Camp: $1,050
  • Iconography Camp: $800
  • Session 1, 1-Week Option: $700

There will also be a $50 Medical Fee applied to each registration at checkout. Don’t be scared! That fee will be refunded if all medical information is completed by April 30th.

  • Medical information includes: online Medical Form Section, Medical Exam Form, additional forms as needed (FARE Food Allergy Form, Medication Approval Forms). If a camper is unable to have their physician form filled out by the April 30th deadline, the family MUST email healthcenter@avcamp.org to inform our medical staff that this form will be filled out and turned in later, in order to receive a refund of the $50 medical fee. There will no longer be late fees for late medical information.
Deadlines

All deadlines are now April 30th!

  • This includes: online medical form section, medical exam form (or an email to healthcenter@avcamp.org informing us that it will be done later), additional forms as needed (FARE Food Allergy Form, Medication Approval Forms), and travel information.
For Those With Food Allergies

A note from a doctor is now required for all food allergies, medications, and vitamins. The camp nurses will not be able to distribute medications or vitamins, and kitchen staff will not be able to prepare specialty food for campers with food allergies, without completing the Permission Form for Medications.

Financial Assistance

For those seeking help paying for camp, The Financial Assistance Request Form will be available on our website beginning on January 7th. All forms are due by March 1st.

Same Place, Different Time

Iconography camp is being moved to the first week of August (during the first week of Session 4).

No More COVID Guidelines

We are pleased to announce that, following the guidance of our awesome medical team, we can safely go into the 2023 Summer with no COVID guidelines. For more information, see our October 2022 Gathering Place Newsletter.

Camper Parents Looking For Lodging

If you’re a camper parent looking to stay at the conference center this summer, here’s a note from The Antiochian Village Conference Center:

To streamline the reservation process for camper parents and to eliminate the waitlist process, the conference center will not be taking camper parent reservations until June for this summer camping season. An email will be sent out when camper parents are able to start making their reservations at the conference center, at that time you can call the front desk to reserve your room. Again, there will be no waitlist. We appreciate your patience and understanding with this new policy.

The camper parent rate for the conference center for the 2023 camping season is $79 per room per night plus 11% occupancy tax= $87.69 per room per night. We look forward to seeing you this summer!

FAQ’s

  • What is the mission of The Antiochian Village Camp?
    • Antiochian Village Camp nurtures faith in Jesus Christ through Orthodox Christian community living, worship, education, fellowship, and love.
  • Where can I find the Camper Parent Handbook?
    • All policies and procedures regarding life at camp can be found within the Camper-Parent handbook. Please read the handbook thoroughly to best understand helping your child(ren) transition into and out of camp life. The Camper Parent Handbook is available here.
  • Is the Financial Assistance form the only way to help pay for tuition?
    • Limited scholarships for camps are available for families in need of financial assistance. We encourage families to first seek assistance from their home parish and dioceses first; the Order of St. Ignatius awards $700 in scholarship money to each parish of the Antiochian Archdiocese. Otherwise, please fill out the Financial Assistance Form here. Please note that an active or waitlist registration is required to be considered for financial aid.
